Every
person suffers at least one time in their life, from some form of mental
illness.
Mental
illness does not discriminate who gets it & who does not. Only those
who do not under- stand the real meaning of mental illness. They do from
the fear of what they lack in knowing of what mental illness is. This factor
is the "Stigma" that society has labeled mental illness.
Anyone
can have a mental illness, genetically, short term, long term, any age,
ethnic group(s), etc. Let's join as one in this battle to spread the word
of awareness to everyone.

The Secret Sacrifice-To get help
for their mentally ill children, some parents have to give them up: exposes
the horrendous practice of requiring families to relinquish custody of
a child with a mental illness in order to secure critically-needed
services. This practice of "custody relinquishment" has been a well-kept
secret. Greater media coverage is bringing it to the attention of federal
and state lawmakers, and the public.
We are now including the entire booklet to download on AChildsCry.org (More)

Children's Problems Fall Into Schools' Laps
The 9-year-old
boy often lost control, but the day he smashed the glass tabletop was different,
his mother told the sheriff's deputy. It was Monday, the day of the Florida
Comprehensive Assessment Test in 2002.
Two days later, a
high school counselor noticed cuts on a 16-year-old girl's arms from her wrists
to her shoulders. The girl was distraught over problems at home and school.
These students and at least 160 others in Hillsborough and Pinellas counties
were forcibly taken from school to crisis centers last year for psychiatric
evaluations under Florida's Baker Act.
